"ENGINEERING THE FUTURE OF THE START-UP NATION"

In a worldmarked by accelerated technological progress that has a profound effect on all aspects of life, employers are looking for workforce-ready engineers with vital personal skills such as multidisciplinary teamwork, self-learning, critical thinking and effective communication. Over the past several years, Afeka has been pioneering strategic institute-wide change to enhance the relevance of our educational process — in turn, forging the future of the workforce in Israel as a whole. We began by defining the desired output of our education process — the ultimate “graduate profile” incorporating not only knowledge and engineering skills, but also vital personal skills and values. We then integrated all elements of our graduate profile, including skills, as learning outcomes of our educational process by modifying curricula, encouraging innovative teachingmethods, integrating awide range of extra-curricular activities, restructuring learning andworkspaces, and building collaborations with the industry and the education system— all for the purpose of increasing the workforce-readiness of our graduates.
