Congratulations to Dr. Yehudit Aperstein for winning two research grants from Maf’at in recent months

The first research proposal, awarded financing as part of a call for submissions in the field of energetic materials, focuses on developing models and tools for studying the properties of energetic materials. This research represents a novel approach based on generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), which will allow to significantly improve the planning and development of energetic materials. The research aims to combine contemporary knowledge with recently-discovered patterns, in order to provide more accurate and reliable predictions, thus reducing costs and streamlining development.

The second research, which was also awarded finance, focuses on AI applications for analyzing intelligence data. The research examines how to apply advanced paradigms for analyzing competing hypotheses in order to improve the quality of intelligence data analysis and understanding. This novel approach has the potential to significantly improve the precision of decision-making in states of uncertainty, while accounting for human beliefs and biases that could affect analytical processes. By combining advanced data processing and analytics, the research aims to minimize subjective effects and ensure a more objective and precise analysis.

Both of these studies are associated with Afeka’s recently-founded center for artificial intelligence applications. The center’s goal is to study and promote GenAI technologies for a variety of social applications. The center serves as a collaborative platform between Afeka researchers, students, and alumni and researchers from other academic institutions and the industry, in a wide variety of social spheres such as defense, education, healthcare, and more.
