Scholarship Donations and Endowment
The "Path to Engineering" preparatory program scholarship, generously funded by The Buchman Heyman Foundation, supports students in their academic journey toward engineering.
The Buchman Heyman Foundation and Afeka College recognize the importance of dedicating the preparatory period to academic success, without the added burden of financial stress. This scholarship aims to alleviate financial pressure on students and aims to fulfill the dreams of young individuals aspiring to pursue higher education in engineering and science. The scholarship is awarded based on socio-economic criteria, ensuring that support reaches those who need it most.
The Prof. Ilan Hemel Memorial Endowment, established at Afeka College in memory of Prof. Ilan Hemel, provides annual financial grants to students for their exceptional contributions to social activities. Each year, a dedicated committee convenes to select the student recipients based on predefined criteria that highlight their extraordinary involvement in social engagement.
This year, in light of the Swords of Iron War, through the generosity of Rachel Hemel, the fund extended its support to students who not only excelled in social activities but also to those who served in the military reserves or were displaced from their homes.
The ISEF Foundation is committed to promoting equal educational opportunities and social equity in Israel by supporting first-generation higher education students. At Afeka, the program has been active for many years, supporting dozens of students each year, with close to 200 alumni who benefited from this scholarship during their studies. Each scholarship recipient is paired with a personal donor who accompanies them through their academic journey, fostering a strong connection of support. In addition to financial assistance, students in the program give back by dedicating 130 hours annually to community service as part of the "IMPACT for the Community!" initiative, partnering with various volunteer organizations across Israel.
The Rotary Scholarship offers financial assistance to Afeka students committed to making a positive impact in their communities. This scholarship is awarded to students who provide academic support in science subjects, mentor special needs populations, and contribute to educational outreach initiatives. Open to second-year students and above, the scholarship reflects Rotary’s dedication to community service. Through this support, scholarship recipients gain valuable experience in mentorship and community engagement, helping them grow as leaders in both STEM and social fields.
