Dr. Gad Pankas is a faculty member at the School of Software Engineering and the School of Data Science at Afeka College. His areas of expertise include artificial intelligence, artificial neural networks, speech processing, natural language processing (NLP), and the integration of statistical and symbolic reasoning.

Dr. Pankas holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics and Computer Science from Bar-Ilan University and an M.Sc. in Computer Science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, with a focus on information retrieval and natural language processing. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Washington, USA, where he researched logical inference in symmetric neural networks.

Throughout his career, Dr. Pankas has been involved in entrepreneurship, management, and development of research and innovation projects for organizations such as the Ministry of Defense, the Prime Minister’s Office, Amdocs, and various startups. At Afeka’s Applied Research Division, he specialized in speaker recognition and disease detection through speech analysis. Today, he actively promotes research collaborations in artificial intelligence and computational learning.
