
Mr. Dan Hermann
Automotive and Mechanical Engineer, Project Manager, and Development Manager in the Automotive and Multidisciplinary Systems Industry.
Holds an M.Sc. in Automotive Engineering from Cranfield University, UK, and a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Tel Aviv University. Additionally, he has a certificate in Business Entrepreneurship from Swinburne University in Melbourne, Australia, and is a certified garage manager by the Israeli Ministry of Transport. He also completed rally and advanced driving training in Bordeaux, France.
With over 35 years of experience in academic teaching, vehicle component development, and regulatory compliance, he also serves as a consultant in vehicle standards and certification. His comprehensive understanding of the automotive industry stems from his hands-on experience in engineering, mechanics, test driving, and racing, providing deep insight into both vehicle development and after-sales service.
He began his career as a lead designer and head of vehicle development in the technological unit of Israeli Military Intelligence (AMAN). He later held senior engineering positions, including:
Senior Engineer at Ziv-Av Engineering
Project Manager and Head of Mechanical Development Group at Sagitta
VP of Engineering and Consulting Engineer at China Motors
He also co-founded Pillowtrack, a company that developed a patented off-road vehicle recovery device.
In 2004, he founded Herman Automotive Engineering Ltd., specializing in consulting, development, and regulatory compliance, where he serves as CEO. Additionally, he worked as a senior automotive engineer at REE Automotive, contributing to the development of autonomous electric vehicles.
At Afeka College, he leads the Automotive Club and heads the Automotive Engineering specialization. Since 2024, he has been directing Afeka’s Solar Racing Car development project within the Automotive Club.
Notable Achievements:
Consulting on vehicle component development for Tier 1 & Tier 2 suppliers to OEMs.
Converting a gasoline-powered vehicle to electric for Better Place.
Developing and certifying a unique bus, including chassis, suspension, and braking system design, conducting braking tests in Europe, and using analytical methods for rollover certification.
Leading the “Hagar Project”, a unique urban vehicle that won an award from the Smart Transportation Authority under the Prime Minister’s Office.
Developing an infantry load carrier and registering multiple automotive patents.
Serving as an expert witness in court cases, advising vehicle importers, and contributing to regulatory committees.
Technical management and professional team training in the automotive sector.
