Afeka College has made it its mission to advance Israel's engineering human capital at the national level. To this end, we have taken a leadership position by initiating an annual conference aimed at creating dialogue between policy and decision-makers across the Israeli economy—from the education system, higher education, industry, government ministries, the IDF, and relevant organizations and associations.

The Afeka Conference for the Development of National Human Capital in Engineering was held annually for seven consecutive years. Each year, the conference focused on major themes such as integrating engineering education and problem-solving as foundations of the education system; academic readiness; educating engineers in academia in light of 21st century global challenges, and more.

From this traditional conference emerged the Skills&Tech Conference in 2023, in collaboration with TheMarker newspaper. This conference addresses the gap between the skills required in the evolving technological job market and those acquired through educational training in schools and academia. It serves as a platform for strategic discussion about the future job market and the skills needed in technological professions, with particular emphasis on scientific-technological education across the entire educational continuum and the development of job market-relevant skills.
