Community Engagement in Tel Aviv

Afeka views the city of Tel Aviv-Yafo not merely as a location, but as a community of which the Afeka campus is an integral part. This stems from our deep belief that an academic institution's role extends beyond national socio-economic growth to driving progress within the local community where it resides.

Over the years, Afeka College has forged many collaborations with the Tel Aviv-Jaffa municipality's education directorate, united by a common strategic goal - to create a cohesive educational ecosystem within the city. Thousands of Tel Aviv's children have participated in "Experiencing Engineering" activities on Afeka's campus or hosted student who visit in their classrooms through the "Robot Comes to Class" program. The city's female students in scientific-technological majors have taken part in the "WeWomen Afeka" program. Afeka students tutor mathematics in numerous municipal schools. Additionally, a mentorship chain involving female students and alumnae extends into the city. Children of the city's school cleaning staff have enjoyed unique scientific-technological summer activities on campus through the "My Academic Summer" initiative. During times of conflict, such as the Iron Swords war, neighboring school students continued their studies within Afeka's classrooms.

A New Afeka Campus in Yad Eliyahu

As part of realizing a shared urban-community educational vision with the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality, Afeka's campus will relocate to the heart of the Yad Eliyahu neighborhood in southeastern Tel Aviv.

This move will establish Afeka as an urban center for science, technology, and engineering education, enabling the development of a community educational ecosystem in the neighborhood to promote excellence and innovation in science and technology as a foundation for social mobility.
