Alumni Relations for you

Alumni Relations is the academic and professional home for Afeka alumni even past graduation. Together as engineers, we continue to look beyond the possible to the innovative; beyond professional proficiencies to personal skills; and beyond a standard approach for solving engineering problems – to benefitting mankind, the industry, and the country.

We cultivate a leading professional community for developing and empowering your circle of success: instilling in-depth knowledge of science and engineering, cultivating innovation and creativity, and working to connect science and engineering to Israeli community and society.

From our Alumni

Sabina Aledort

Software engineer at Red Hat

Like many 8200 veterans, I had enough experience to be snatched up right away by the industry. What tipped the scales in favor of studying software engineering was my long-term career aspirations – the roles that would be shut to me in the future without an engineering degree.
עידו מירוז

Ido Meroz

Air Force academic reserves, leads the Afeka Vision club

Deep learning and computer vision are challenging and groundbreaking disciplines in multiple fields of interest. Every two years or so, theories are significantly reformulated. The Afeka Vision club allows participants to keep current and even to compete in prestigious international contests.
לי-אור סינדליס

Li-or Seindlis

Integration and SU engineer, team leader at Applied Materials

Set a goal, take the challenges, and enjoy the path to achieving them.
עידו יוגב

Ido Yogev

Head of technical operations division at Shufersal Inc.

Innovation is a core value at Shufersal. It is a great privilege to take part in a hackathon that allows us to glean fresh ideas from a talented group of students, who seize challenges and create solutions for them towards improving the shopping experience of people with disabilities.
טל פרנס

Tal Parnass

Co-founder and CTO at Tongo, biomedical engineer and entrepreneur

Our new development enables people with disabilities to control their wheelchair and smartphone using their tongue. If you take the tongue and touch one of your teeth, you see that you can orient yourself to find the teeth. This ability allows this development to interface with a wheelchair, a phone, a smart house, or any digital device.

Hadar Adlan

Technical project team leader at Monday.com

Afeka’s wonderful WeWomen program, which I am a part of, creates for its participants a mentoring chain that includes professional connections through which we provide each other with tools – but most of all with critical knowledge that directly addresses the need to promote professional female presence in the very near future.
דני צ'רקסקי

Dani Cherkassky

Co-founder and CEO at Kardome

Kardome gives a machine better ‘ears’ using algorithms that can isolate the user’s voice even in noisy environments with several user speaking and background noise. Our company collaborates with car manufacturers and Amazon, and has recently won first place at a startup competition.
יואב מתיה

Dr. Yoav Matia

Honors postdoctoral researcher at Cornell University, USA

Yoav won the 2019-2020 David and Olga Pnueli award for his outstanding doctoral thesis in soft robotics at the Technion. He continues to promote this research at a postdoc at Cornell University, thanks to winning the Zuckerman award for leadership and science, with funding from the US Army’s research labs.
אסף זוארץ

Asaf Zuarez

Head of communications planning section at Military Intelligence, led the Afeka chapter of Engineers Without Borders

As a student leading the Afeka chapter of Engineers Without Borders, I was professionally and ethically empowered. When the goal is good and you believe in it, people will join you in return for a smile and a thank-you. If we can help by using our unique engineering knowledge, it’s important that we work for the community and the environment we live in.

Tamir Eden

CTO at Rise, which was purchased by Wix

Rise leads the branded gift card and currency sector in the world of e-commerce, and works with over 5,000 major clients worldwide. Recently the company was purchased by Wix, and has embarked on a new path. I’m sure that we’ll continue to create innovation in our fields.

EInav (Navi) Azaria

GM enterprise, education & technology at Kaltura

Kaltura, which enjoyed a surge due to the COVID-19 epidemic, is active in two key sectors: media, and education and organizations. Its clients include Oracle, Berlitz, Wells Fargo, Bloomberg, Vodafone, and others. Recently the company went public on Nasdaq and began trading on the NY stock exchange

Ahishay Sardes

Founder and CTO of REE Automotive

REE’s key development is a unique electric wheel that houses the entire drive system, which has become a flat modular platform with four wheels, enabling to use the freed-up space for passengers, cargo, batteries, weight reduction, and energy savings. The company recently went public on Nasdaq and began trading on the NY stock exchange.
אלעד צרפתי

Elad Serfaty

Executive vice president, government affairs and data at Mobileye

To me, the difference between a good engineer and a great one lies in mental flexibility: the ability to see a problem from different angles and improvise solutions that fit your organization, your product, and the technological and commercial aspects. Academia is a platform for understanding the picture, and industry is where you gain most of your experience.

Col. (res.) Merav Davidovits

Senior director of SW applications & AI products at Elbit Systems

Intelligent systems are becoming ever-more prevalent in our daily lives – with everything from virtual reality interfaces, tiny sensors that intercommunicate to generate big data, biometric systems, and learning systems used for business intelligence.

Carmi Shimon

Senior data scientist at Matrix

An article I published at the Acoustical Society of America describes a study I led on behalf of Matrix, on analyzing voice samples from COVID-19 patients and healthy people from around the world, using a novel application that combines AI, algorithms, and machine learning. The diagnostic accuracy was 80%.

Eli Rahimiko

Director, East Mediterranean regional manager at Agile Business Process

Following COVID-19, organizations realized that when they are forced into new operational circumstances, such as remote work and greater or smaller IT loads, automation can yield them instant benefits. Using structured processes, over very short timeframes, you can take a process and almost completely robotize it.

Tomer Epstein

דירקטור שותפויות ואסטרטגיות בחברת Biobeat

The sticker that replaces medical teams in online monitoring of COVID-19 patients’ physiological indicators is a smart device that combines an AI system with an algorithm for rating the patients’ health. In the future, its applications will be extended to HMOs and insurance companies for performing remote health monitoring instead of hospitalization
עומר כספי

Omer Kaspi

Systems engineer at Elbit Systems and PhD candidate at Bar-Ilan University’s chemistry dept., in the field of applying machine learning methods to chemistry

My latest publication in the scientific journal Talanta describes a process by which glass can be collected from a crime scene, and using a system that combines a particle accelerator and machine learning, to determine what model car the glass came from, thus greatly aiding law enforcement.

Harel Tayeb

CEO of Kryon

Robots will not replace mankind, but will multiply its power. Thus, for example, 100 of the company’s bots oversaw the Clalit HMO’s appointment system during the massive COVID-19 vaccination drive. Our bots saved thousands of manhours, cut waiting times, and of course saved lots of money

Shani Toledano

Co-founder and CEO at HT BioImaging

The system we’ve developed spreads heat through tissues, forcing a process of thermal diffusion. Cancer and healthy tissue will transfer the heat differently: we read this signal and translate it into a picture that allows the doctor to detect cancer in the clinic, in cases where there’s no other way to identify cancer tissue.
