A few words on Information security and cybersecurity

The massive data stored on computers and digital systems is an attractive target for attacks by hostile parties. In recent years, cyber attacks have posed an ever-growing threat to private individuals, companies, defense systems, national infrastructures, and government agencies. Furthermore, in the arms race between attackers and defenders, the type and character of attacks is also rapidly mutating.

As part of the information security and cybersecurity specialization, students are familiarized with computer and network architectures and their weaknesses, the various attack types and their potential consequences, their management and ethical aspects, and how to build strong defenses for hardware, software, and information.
